| "Dimensions of Jersey" will be
screened during the Branchage
festival between Thursday 1st and Sunday 4th October. It will be shown
in the evenings at the Branchage box office, 15 Weighbridge, St Helier,
throughout the festival. Not sure of exact timings yet but information will
be on the Branchage website
nearer the time. |
| The same weekend
our latest collaboration with Claudia Molitor "It's not
quite how I remember it" will be having its world premiere at the London Sinfonietta
on Saturday 3rd October. The piece - live improvisation, pre-recorded sound
and stereoscopic video (still below) - will be performed during the Re-Wired
concert as part of the Sonic
Explorations weekend. It is being recorded for broadcast on Hear and Now on BBC Radio 3 in November. |

| Started another stereoscopic time-lapse
collaboration with Brian yesterday, this time we're making a series of 10 day long films around Brighton
- we thought it would be nice to do something in our home town. Therefore
an early start at 5am to film the August bank holiday on Brighton seafront,
from the last of the clubbers meandering home as the sun rose to when the
sun went down again. It was a very long but entertaining day. |
| Amongst the people wandering past who wondered
what we were doing was Matt from Restless
List, had a nice chat with him and they are interested in getting involved
with the soundtracks. |
| Other shoots planned (depending in permissions)
include Devil's Dyke and paragliders, Shoreham Harbour, the West Pier, the
train station, somewhere in the city centre and kite surfers out towards
Lancing. They will all be screened during next years SoundWaves
festival, and we'd also like to do a live event with screenings and performances
by some of the musicians involved. |
| The Jersey film - we still need to come
up with a title - has been edited into three sections and has
been handed over to the musicians for soundtrack composing. Should be info
on the Branchage site soon
with details of screenings, etc. The rest of the festival programme is listed
there, including fellow Brightonians British Sea Power performing their
soundtrack to 1934 documentary Man of Aran, the All
Tomorrow's Parties film, and Werner Herzog's Encounter
at the End of the World. |

| In post-production for the Jersey stereoscopic
time-lapse film for the Branchage
Festival. Also in post-production for the film with Claudia
Molitor for the London Sinfonietta's Rewired
event. |
| A new cloud film proposal has been shortlisted
by Atopia for the Vitrine project in
Oslo. |
| 'We are never tired, so long as we can
see far enough' can be seen in the Salon Show at Temporary
Art Space in Halifax between 7th and 29th August. |

| Back from a week's filming in Jersey. Long
days, many crosswords finished, and a few problems; dodgy battery or alternator
in the van so we had to jump start it every time we stopped, the main stereo
camera was broken and shooting out of sync for the first two days so we
had to rebuild the camera and re-shoot a load of footage, and we got rained
off a lot over the weekend. Due to rain and the malfunctioning camera we
had to go to La Corbiere (above and below) on three days to actually get
a full tidal sequence shot. Slight change of plan, rather that three 24
hour shoots we did multiple shoots all over the island, long shoots using
the main camera, shorter incidental shoots using the back-up cameras, so
we can build a kind of stereoscopic timelapse portrait of Jersey. We've
checked bits of sequences and it looks like we've got some beautiful footage.
Now the post-production starts... |
